Clipzone team strives for exceptional guest service

ANDERSON, Ind. — Whether there’s a special night out coming up or you’re simply staying on top of your game, there’s a small army of folks at Clipzone Salon and Spa ready to help you accomplish your goal of looking your best.

“We have everything in one place. Color, cut, facial, massage, pedicure, makeup. ... You can walk out feeling completely beautiful from head to toe,” said Clipzone’s founder Nicole Eicks. “That’s the goal.”

The Clipzone team wants you to feel good while you’re at it, too. Eicks summed up the Clipzone philosophy in three words, “exceptional guest service.” In addition, Eicks noted that Clipzone offers multi-level pricing, making services available to suit the budget.

The philosophy seems to be working. Clipzone has been voted Best Salon of Madison County numerous times and has attracted a large client base, seeing about 1,500 guests each month.

“They’re extremely professional,” said Nancy Anderson. The Anderson resident has been going to Clipzone for four years. She said the stylists stay up on trends, but they’re tuned into their clients. “It’s a nice balance between what’s trendy and what’s current and what you’re comfortable with.”

Brandy Kerr, this year’s Best Stylist of Madison County, has been with Clipzone for 16 years.

“I love what I do,” Kerr said. “I like to make people look beautiful and feel good. It makes me feel good when I make people happy.”

She enjoys her clients as well as her work environment.

“We are a great team. ... It’s awesome to be a part of Clipzone,” Kerr said.

Eicks founded Clipzone in 1996. By age 23, she had earned her cosmetology credentials and worked at a couple of different salons. She described it as employment that offered no benefits or the things that one expects from a professional industry.

“I just wanted more. Being young, I just thought I could save the world,” said Eicks. Armed with enthusiasm and innocence, Eicks set about establishing her own successful business while raising the bar in the industry. She tapped into the expertise of a company called Summit Salon, for whom she now consults, to develop a business plan. Her results: phenomenal growth.

“We’re growing at a pretty rapid rate,” Eicks said. “We’re really proud that we’re able to provide group health benefits, vacation benefits, education.”

Today, Clipzone employs 37 people, and it’s still growing.

“We have an amazing team. With that many creative people, there could be a lot of drama, but there isn’t,” Eicks said. “We work really well together, so people feel great when they’re with us.”

And it’s not just at work.

“We do a ton of community events. Everyone is always wanting to volunteer their time and their talents,” Eicks said. That’s something that appeals to customers as well.

“They all volunteer in the community,” Anderson said. “It always me feel good to go to a small business that supports our community.”

Eicks is humbly cognizant of what makes it all click at Clipzone.

“I’m very proud of the people who are inside of my company. They do the hard work,” Eicks said. “We’re very thankful to our guests and our community.”
