ANDERSON — City officials closed the Eisenhower Bridge over Eighth Street shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, after slick road conditions made the bridge too dangerous to cross.

Officials also closed the Madison Avenue Bridge, and several property-damage crashes were reported at the Broadway Bridge.

Area law enforcement authorities and emergency management officials assisted numerous motorists after road conditions became chaotic as temperatures dropped this evening, at about the time when many were driving home from work.
