FISHERS, Ind. — Court documents say the altercation that led to the stabbing death of a suburban Indianapolis man was over a girl.
The Indianapolis Star reports the documents show Connor Shockley and Corbin Montgomery had been arguing over Montgomery's girlfriend in the days leading up to Shockley's fatal stabbing on Sunday night. Both men were from Fishers and 18 years old.
An autopsy revealed Shockley suffered three fatal stab wounds to the chest, including one that reached his heart. He also had what appeared to be defensive wounds on his hands.
Montgomery was being held without bond Tuesday on a charge of murder in the Hamilton County Jail in Noblesville. Online court records did now show an attorney for him. Prosecutors dropped an initial charge of involuntary manslaughter Tuesday.
