ANDERSON, Ind. —
Angela Warner Sims, the first woman appointed to serve as a Madison County judge, will be sworn in on Friday at 2 p.m.
The ceremony will be held at the Madison County Government Center in the Board of County Commissioners’ courtroom on the first floor.
A public reception will take place immediately following the ceremony in the offices of Circuit Court 1, where Sims will preside.
Gov. Mitch Daniels named Sims to the court following the appointment of Judge Rudolph R. Pyle III to the Indiana Court of Appeals.
Sims is a lifelong Anderson resident and an attorney at the law firm of Hulse, Lacey, Hardacre, Austin & Sims. She has also served as a major felony public defender and specialty court public defender in Madison County. She earned her law degree from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 1999.
