Two injured in car, scooter accident in Elwood

ELWOOD, Ind. — The Madison County Sheriff’s Department Accident Team was called to Elwood to investigate an accident that involved a passenger car and a scooter about 9:15 p.m. Monday

According to Sheriff Ron Richardson, Brittney N McGuire 18, of Alexandria was operating a 1998 Qingqi scooter east on Main Street (Indiana 28) at South 16th Street. Terry Beeman 54, of Elwood was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier west on Main Street, Beeman was attempting to make a left turn onto south 16th Street when his vehicle collided with the eastbound scooter.

Brittney McGuire and her passenger, Chelsea R McGuire, were transported by Elwood ambulance to St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood. Brittney McGuire was being treated for abrasions to right hand, arm, left side of her face and left knee. Chelsea McGuire was treated for lacerations to a heel and ankle Beeman, was not injured according to  Richardson.

The Sheriff’s Department Accident Team was assisted at the scene by Elwood police and fire departments.
