SUV knocks down power lines, crews close road

ANDERSON, Ind. —  An SUV collided with a power pole Saturday afternoon, knocking down the pole and power lines and cutting power to an area near Indiana 9 and County Road 360 North.

The accident reportedly occurred around 2:30 p.m. Anderson Municipal Power & Light foreman Jim Anthony said the driver wasn’t hurt, but he didn’t have any other details of the accident.

Power & Light workers said power would likely remain out for a Sunoco gas station, a UPS store and several houses in the area until about 10 p.m. Saturday. Crews will also keep 360 North closed until the pole is replaced.

According to the Anderson Municipal Power & Light website, power was out for 10-49 customers total in that area.
