1 killed, 1 wounded in Indianapolis shooting

-- — INDIANAPOLIS —Indianapolis police say one person has died after a shooting at a clothing store Sunday afternoon that left a second person wounded.

Police arrived at the store on the city's east side and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to a hospital by EMS crews. Sgt. Kendale Adams says in a press release that the male victim died at the hospital during surgery. The female victim was transported in good condition.

It is not clear whether either of the victims was a store employee.

Adams says two people were taken into custody for questioning after the shooting but they have not been arrested.

Last year, Indianapolis had 125 homicides, its highest tally in seven years. This year, violence is on track to outpace 2013.
