Paramount sustains water damage

ANDERSON, Ind. — A passer-by alerted police late Wednesday night after noticing water running out of the Paramount Theatre Centre in downtown Anderson.

Executive Director Gayle Jones Burris said she was called about 1 a.m. Thursday and arrived to find a water line had burst in the theater’s second-floor kitchen, flooding the adjoining Marquee Room and the concessions area below on the first floor.

There was no damage inside the theater, Burris said.

She expressed thanks to the unidentified Good Samaritan who called police and saved the historic theater from worst damage.
