Prairie Farms Dairy introduces lactose free vanilla almond milk

ST. LOUIS — Prairie Farms Dairy has announced that lactose-free vanilla almond milk has been added to its lineup of dairy products. Recognizing that many lactose intolerant consumers have stopped drinking real milk and instead are consuming non-dairy alternative beverages — including almond and soy, Prairie Farms says the milk offers a unique solution to bring consumers back into the dairy category.

The product is fat free, ultra-pasteurized, comes from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones, and contains the same nine essential nutrients as regular milk with a hint of vanilla and almond flavors, with 80 calories per one-cup serving.

Headquartered in Carlinville, Ill., with operations in Anderson, Prairie Farms Dairy Inc. is a farmer-owned dairy cooperative. Founded in 1938, Prairie Farms manufactures and distributes a complete line of fluid milk and dairy products throughout the Midwest to retail outlets, schools and food service outlets.
