DALEVILLE, Ind. — A Daleville-based lab has joined the country’s largest dedicated materials testing company.

Sherry Laboratories, 9301 Innovation Drive, has announced it will join Element Material Technology, an international company which offers materials and product qualification testing and failure analysis.

Headquartered in Daleville, Sherry does lab testing, and has worked with over 6,000 clients in industries such as aerospace, defense, oil, transportation, environmental services and food.

“We decided to join Element because they share our common goals of delighting customers through consistent on-time delivery, industry leading turn-times, quality of services and the overall customer experience,” Sherry said in a release. “And as we continue to grow with our customers on an international scale, we felt that it was time to join a company that already operates globally and  that can bring immediate benefit to our customers.”

Sherry operates 10 facilities and employs nearly 300. Its acquisition brings Element’s total holdings to 40 facilities, making it the largest dedicated materials testing company in America.

Sherry’s EMT’s ninth acquisition over the past 15 months, including Cincinnati’s MAR-TEST, Detroit Testing Laboratories of Warren, Mich., and the United Kingdom’s MERL.

Despite operating under a new banner, Sherry says it plans to conduct business as it has since its founding 66 years ago.

“Our commitment to our customers remains unshakable and we will to continue to deliver and improve the outstanding services and performance you need to be successful in accomplishing your business goals,” the release said.
