Second Harvest establishes Senior Citizens Volunteer Club

The Herald Bulletin

---- — MUNCIE — Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana is looking for volunteers who want to become a part of a newly established Senior Citizens Volunteer Club.

The club will meet from 10 a.m. to noon on the first Wednesday of every month starting April 2. Additional dates for the calendar year are: May 7, June 4, July 2, Aug. 6, Sept. 3, Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3.

Of course, individuals of all ages are encouraged to volunteer Monday through Saturday during Second Harvest’s business hours. However, this new club will give those volunteering the opportunity to meet others who share similar interests, view short presentations on hunger in Indiana, and then have fun by working in groups on projects such as assorting food, stuffing envelopes, etc. as they make a difference to those who are hungry, a Second Harvest representative said.

A light continental breakfast will be served. Second Harvest Food is located at 6621 N. Indiana 3 in Muncie next to the Water Bowl.

RSVP for each meeting by contacting John Nieman at jnieman@curehunger.org or call 287-8698.
