June 27 fundraiser to help save Athletic Pool

ANDERSON — Onward Alliance and UAW locals 662, 663 and 1963 will be holding a fundraiser to save the Athletic Pool. Texas Roadhouse will be providing a special drive-through lunch of pulled pork barbecue, corn, a fluffy dinner roll with butter and a diet or regular coke for $8.50 on Thursday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Onward Alliance members will be selling tickets in the City Building’s main- and ground-floor lobbies today and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Can’t be there? Call 644-1066 or 639-5565 and tickets will be delivered.

All proceeds will be going toward the rehabilitation, restoration and maintenance of the Athletic Pool, an Anderson treasure that has been placed on the Indiana Landmarks’ endangered list.

Those wishing to make a tax-free donation may do so by sending a check written to: The Madison County Community Foundation, with designation to: The Athletic Pool Project (TAPP).
