ANDERSON – Family Dollar Stores has confirmed it is closing nine stores in Indiana, including one “underperforming” location here.
In April, Family Dollar Stores announced it would close 370 of its stores in response to a competitive holiday season and financially constrained consumers. The company announced jobs would also be cut and prices cut on hundreds of basic items carried in the store.
Bryn Winburn, a public relations manager for Family Dollar Stores, said the Family Dollar located at 825 E. 53rd St., will close by the end of August.
