Party/play center featuring inflatables to open at Mounds Mall

ANDERSON, Ind. — Parents will soon be over the moon (bounce) with the August opening of Anderson’s only party and play center, Big Time Bounce, its new owners said.

Big Time Bounce will be housed in an 11,000-square-foot storefront at Mounds Mall and will open Aug. 1. The party and play center will have giant inflatables, including a “moon bounce” where children jump in, obstacle courses, slides and a toddlers-only area.

Big Time Bounce is the first venture into business for owners Brent and Aurora Doster, who said they are opening it out of a need the community expressed.

“People kept saying, ‘There is nowhere to have a kids birthday party,’” Brent Doster said. “People were having to drive 35 to 45 minutes to go to anyplace like this. We want to offer something like this right here in Anderson. This is an exciting opportunity for us to offer this in the mall, giving families a fun and safe place to play and (allowing) them to keep their money here in Anderson.”

The couple has three daughters — a 6-year-old and 4-year-old twins — with a fourth child on the way. Aurora Doster said she wanted a business that would be family-friendly where her kids could come to work with her if she wanted. She joked that she enjoys jumping on the inflatables herself.

“It is a great place for families to come,” she said. “We will have open play for children 12 and under and then a safe contained place for children 2 and under where they can play and have fun but still be safe. There will be plenty of seating for parents and private party rental areas.”

Families and companies can also throw the “ultimate party,” Aurora Doster said, by renting the entire facility during off hours. She said the location would be great for events such as family reunions or businesses’ team-building workshops and retreats.

The play center will give parents an outlet for their children to “play” their energy out during the winter months, rainy days or when it is too hot to be outside, she said.

“We hope we can help save some parents’ sanity,” Aurora Doster joked.

After the business opens, Brent Doster said, the couple hopes to provide courses on parenting, financial planning and other subjects for parents while their children play.

As the business gets established, Big Time Bounce will add new pieces. Right now the couple said they are excited to plan out the space, marking where the giant inflatables will be placed with masking tape.

“Bring the kids out and have a great time,” Brent Doster said. “It is a lot of fun and is a clean and safe place. Anderson needs this, and we are glad to provide it.”

Braun Roosa, Mounds Mall’s marketing director, said the play center will combine two spaces inside the mall next to MCL Restaurant and Bakery.

“As parents ourselves (mall owners and management), we understand how important it is to spend time with our children,” Roosa said. “They need a fun, safe place to play. We have a common goal with Big Bounce Time to help provide a clean, safe and healthy environment for the kids to enjoy.”
