NEW CASTLE — Cumulus Media’s New Castle-based radio station WMDH, NASH FM 102.5, (which services Madison, Delaware and Henry counties in addition to being heard in 18 counties in Indiana and Ohio) was recently selected as the Radio Station of the Year at the 26th annual Spectrum Awards presented by the Indiana Broadcasters Association.
The Spectrum Awards recognize broadcast excellence for outstanding achievement in broadcasting by Indiana radio and television stations. The competition is established to encourage the highest standards of reporting, community service and production creativity. It brings the ultimate prize of peer recognition to members of the broadcast industry of Indiana. This prestigious award recognizes radio’s outstanding stations and personalities.
The awards divide all radio stations in the state into three classes, and television stations into two classes, based on the size of the station’s home market. NASH FM 102.5 is a Top 3 finalist for Station of the year in Market 3, for small market stations. Also recognized as finalists in the category were WKVI (K99.3) from Knox, and WZVN (107-1 The Z) from Lowell.
