AU baseball falls at IU-Southeast

NEW ALBANY, Ind. — The Anderson University baseball team lost on the road to IU-Southeast 2-1 on Sunday.

Former Anderson and Highland star Cole Heberling accounted for the only AU run in the game with a solo home run in the fourth inning.

The Ravens were 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position and hit into three double plays in the contest.

Ryan McPike led the offense with three hits, and Heberling added two hits.

Dan Schmitz took the loss on the mound, allowing seven hits and two runs in six innings while striking out seven. Jake Eaton pitched a perfect eighth and Andew Enderle a shutout ninth, allowing just one hit.

AU (1-4) plays a doubleheader against Benedictine on Saturday in Auburndale, Fla., at 3 p.m.
