AU falls in OT, women get first HCAC win

TERRE HAUTE — The Anderson University men’s basketball team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference leader Rose-Hulman 68-66 in overtime on Wednesday night at Hulbert Arena.

Max Mollaun led the Ravens with 18 points and four rebounds, hitting 7 of 13 field goals, including three 3-pointers.

Brett Anderson had 12 points, and Nathaniel Acree added 11 points, four rebounds and two steals. Nate Gross gave the Ravens four players in double figures with 10 points and six rebounds.

AU (4-14, 4-7 HCAC) travels to Franklin on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Women’s Basketball

Anderson 58, Rose-Hulman 54: Jenna Wittenberg led the Ravens with 17 points, three rebounds and five assists, hitting 6 of 15 field goals and all four of her free throws, including a 3-pointer.

Shelby Shaffer was in double figures with 14 points, three assists and five steals, and Nyomi Defiel added 10 points, five rebounds and two steals. Cori Conner chipped in with six points and three rebounds off the bench.

AU (2-16, 1-10 HCAC) travels to Franklin on Saturday at 1 p.m.
