Choir Fest set for Saturday at Madison Park

ANDERSON — The Indiana State Usher Board of the Church of God will host a Choir Fest at 4 p.m. Saturday at Madison Park Church of God, 6607 Providence Drive, Anderson.

Featured will be Dr. Margo Carrancejie, Latrelle Dixon, Corrine Rollings, Joyce Foggs, C&C Dance Academy, choirs from Sherman Street COG, Bethesda, Church Upon The Rock, Madison Park COG, Great Commissions COG and Living Word Baptist, Tasha Bradley and Victorious Praise. A freewill offering will support the Book Scholarship Awards for graduating high school seniors.

Legion to serve up Saturday breakfast

DALEVILLE — The Daleville American Legion Post 446, 14708 W. Sixth St., Daleville, will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m.

The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. The menu includes sausage gravy and biscuits, hash browns, bacon, sausage links, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee and milk.

AHS Class of '46 to host Aug. 17 reunion

ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Class of '46 will host its 67-year class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 5:30 p.m. at Rigo's at Grandview. Those attending may bring a spouse or friend. For more information call Corrine Rector at 644-3552.

Women's Only Triathlon set for Aug. 10

SELMA — The Divine Divas - Women's Only Triathlon will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Prairie Creek Reservoir in Selma.

The long course triathlon with distances of 1.5K swim, 41.2 km bike and 10 km run will include a Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon, a 5K, and an aquabike on the same day using most of the same courses.

Online registration is open until 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at Day of registration also will take place until 400 athletes are registered. For more information call Steven N. Tomboni at 215-6582.

Central Christian presents 'Fiddler on the Roof, Jr.'

ANDERSON — Central Christian Church, 10th and Jackson streets, Anderson, is hosting (C.A.M.P.) with "Fiddler on the Roof, Jr." now through Aug. 3. The two-week evening camp is for kids to learn the history of the Jewish people, dancing, drama, music, set and costume design...all ending in a performance of "Fiddler on the Roof, Jr." on Saturday, Aug 3.

AHS Class of '62 to gather for lunch Friday

ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Class of 1962 will have its monthly luncheon at 11 a.m. Friday at Perkins in Anderson.

All classmates and spouses are invited.

Babysiitting class offered Aug 2

ANDERSON — St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital is offering a Safe Sitter class on Aug. 2.

Safe Sitter is a medically accurate baby-sitting preparation program designed for boys and girls ages 11 to 13. This nationally recognized program teaches sitters how to have fun with children, to recognize a medical emergency and to respond appropriately. Safe Sitter participants learn safety and security precautions, such as what to do if a stranger comes to the door, and when and how to call for help. They receive information on child development and age-appropriate activities. They also learn about the business aspects of baby-sitting.

Cost is $40, which includes all the learning materials for the one-day class and a backpack of supplies. Enrollment is limited. The class runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students should bring a sandwich for lunch. Snacks and beverages are provided.
