---- — ANDERSON — A woman required hospitalization after an early morning accident Monday on the city's north side.

Lenore P. Davis, 36, of Anderson, suffered head trauma and lacerations after her red 2001 Ford Escape left the roadway and struck a tree near the intersection of School Street and MacArthur Drive.

According to a press release from the Madison County Sheriff's Department, Davis' vehicle was traveling west on School Street about 7:18 a.m. when it left the road for unexplained reasons and struck a tree to the south of the street.

The force of the impact caused the airbags to deploy and Davis struck her head on the windshield. She was transported to Community Hospital Anderson by Richland Township Fire and Ambulance.
