Woman facing felony drug charges

ANDERSON — A woman recently released from prison could be headed back after allegedly admitting to having methamphetamine and prescription pills in her home on Tuesday night.

Constance H. Cox, 29, of Anderson faces felony drug possession charges after police reportedly found meth, syringes and pills she didn't have a prescription for in her home in the 4000 block of West 38th Street. Cox pleaded guilty to meth charges in 2012 and received a 10-year sentence, but the majority of that sentence was suspended and she was released from prison on March 9. She could face the balance of that sentence plus additional prison time if convicted in Tuesday's case.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Anderson police received a tip from the Department of Child Services that Cox had been using meth at the home. An officer went to the home to investigate, received permission to search the house and reportedly found syringes and a metal spoon in Cox's purse.

A box underneath Cox's couch allegedly held a bag of meth and a pill container with codeine sulfate, Zolpidem and hydrocodone pills. Cox admitted to police she didn't have a prescription for any of them, and all three are controlled substances.
