Elwood man dies after crashing motorcycle

YORKTOWN — An Elwood resident died Friday night after crashing his motorcycle on Bethel Avenue in Delaware County.

Bruce Blackwell, 70, of Elwood, was pronounced dead at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, according to a report by the Muncie Star Press. Cause of death was severe head trauma, Delaware County deputy coroner Clarence Brooks said.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident, which did not involve any other vehicles. Blackwell was the lone occupant of the motorcycle.
