ANDERSON — The investigation into a “chemical bomb” threat that forced the evacuation of city and county government buildings Tuesday has yet to yield any leads.
The Anderson Police Department and Madison County Sheriff’s Department reported that they are still looking into the incident.
At 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, a person called in the threat to Anderson police from a payphone at the Ricker’s on Broadway.
Shortly after, both Anderson City Hall and the Madison County Government Center were evacuated while a hazardous materials team, police officers and police dogs searched the buildings.
Anyone with information related to the bomb threat is asked to call Lt. Detective David Callahan of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department at (765) 646-9281.
