ANDERSON, Ind. —
A man faces domestic abuse charges after allegedly beating a woman Monday night.
Marven D. Lemock, 30, is in Madison County Jail on $5,000 bail for charges of domestic battery, strangulation and criminal confinement. The victim told police Lemock attacked her in her home in the 3300 block of Hamilton Place because he wanted half of an insurance settlement he learned she received seven months ago, according to a probable cause affidavit of the incident.
The victim told detectives Lemock got angry when she told him she didn’t want to share the money, and he sent the victim’s children into another room then starting beating her.
He allegedly dragged the victim by her hair into a bedroom and choked her. After about an hour, the victim allegedly told Lemock where he could find the money.
In an interview with detectives, Lemock admitted the two fought but said it wasn’t over the money.
Lemock pleaded guilty to dealing marijuana in 2004 and was convicted of possession of marijuana and driving while suspended in 2006, according to public record documents.
