Arrests made by Madison County law enforcement on Wednesday and Thursday, based on Madison County Jail records. Charges are recommended by arresting officers, but are not final until the Madison County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.

Anderson police arrested James Kevin Chatman, 38, of the 1400 block of W. 10th Street, Anderson, at 8:58 a.m. Wednesday. Bond was set at $10,000 for a Class D felony domestic battery of spouse, a Class C felony battery with serious injury-deadly weapon and Class D felony strangulation.

Anderson police arrested Christopher Michael Armstrong, 41, of the 4100 block of S. Harrison, Marion, at 12:14 p.m. Wednesday. Bond was set at $20,000 for a Class A misdemeanor OWI.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Beau Daniel Scott Jaqua, 32, of the 11800 block of N. County Road 75 W., Alexandria, at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday. Bond was set at $5,000 for a Class D felony possession of a controlled substance and Class A misdemeanor OWI for a controlled substance.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Fred Earl Harpst, 46, of the 5300 block of West County Road 950 North, Middletown, at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday. No bond was set for a Class D felony for violation of probation - jail booking.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Matthew Dukes Coonce, 36, of the 5300 block of N. Bend Drive, Fort Wayne, at 4:43 p.m. Wednesday. No bond was set for a Class D felony violation of probation.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Traci Ann Hardesty, 39, of the 700 block of Front Street, Cgynet, Ohio, at 5:08 p.m. Wednesday. No bond was set for a Class D felony contempt of court.

Pendleton police arrested April Dawn Flores, 30, of the 600 block of Turtle Creek N. Drive, Indianapolis, at 5:52 p.m. Wednesday. Bond was set at $10,000 for a Class A misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle while intoxictaed and a Class A misdemeanor driving while suspended.

Anderson police arrested Carl Edward Helbert, 57, of the 2900 block of N. Scatterfield Road, Anderson, at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday. Bond was set at $5,000 for a Class A misdemeanor for conversion.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Ervin Layne Jr., 54, of the 1600 block of B Street, Elwood, at 8:32 p.m. Wednesday. No bond was set for a Class B felony.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Brian Allen Corbin, 40, of the 4000 block of E. 12th Street, Indianapolis, at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday. No bond was set for a civil return to a county jail per a court order.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Steven Ken Staggs, 54, of the 57000 block of County Road 13, Elkhart, at 10:06 p.m. Wednesday. No bond was set for a Class D felony violation of work release.

Elwood police arrested Michael Lee Pearson Jr., 32, of the 1600 block of South J Street, Elwood, at 5:04 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $5,000 for a Class D felony possession of methamphetamine and a Class A misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia.

Elwood police arrested Kylee Dawn Williams, 20, of the 900 block of Ninth Street, Elwood, at 5:46 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $35,000 for a Class D felony possession of syringe, a Class D felony maintaining a common nuisance and a Class A felony for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Elwood police arrested Kristi Lee Castle, 26, Elwood, at 5:49 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $35,000 for a Class A felony for manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class B felony for possession of methamphetamine, a class D felony possession of syringe, class D felony possession or sale of chemical reagents or precursors and a class A misdemeanor DWS.

Anderson police arrested Jeffrey Wayne Valentine, 49, of the 200 block of West Willow Street, Anderson, at 6:25 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $5,000 for a Class A misdemeanor for conversion.

Anderson police arrested Micheal Leroy Simmons, 64, of the 800 block of West 38th Street, Anderson, at 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $5,000 for a Class A misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor for resisting law enforcement and for a civil sex offender failing to possess identification.
