CASA appoints new volunteer advocates

---- — ANDERSON — The East Central Indiana Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program welcomed nine new volunteer child advocates into the agency on Oct.15, 2013.

The Honorable G. George Pancol administered the official oath to the community volunteers at a special ceremony and reception in his courtroom at the Madison County Courthouse. The CASA volunteers who completed the fall 2013 training are: Ada Gibbs, Melanie Hendricks, Roland Hobbs, Martita Sanders, Makenzie Simmons and Ann Wheeler all from Anderson, Vickie Sue Hart of Pendleton, Trefin Kaye Luker of Lapel and Brieghaunna Russell of Ingalls.

East Central Indiana CASA is accepting applications for new volunteer advocates for the spring 2014 training class.

Over 300 children still remain on a waiting list for a child advocate in Madison County. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact CASA at 649-7215 or at eastcentralindianacasa@yahoo.com to learn more about volunteering and to set up an interview.
