Two face pot charges

PENDLETON, Ind. — Two Pendleton men were arrested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday and face felony marijuana charges, according to a press release from Sheriff’s Major Brian Bell.

Austin Lawton, 18, and Michael Lawton, 31, both of the 100 block of N. Jamalee Way, were arrested when sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at their address in the Falcon Hurst subdivision in southern Madison County.

Inside, deputies found approximately four pounds of marijuana, $1,450 in cash and various paraphernalia.

Austin Lawton was preliminarily charged with dealing in marijuana, a Class D felony, and maintaining a common nuisance. Michael Lawton was charged with possession of marijuana and visiting a common nuisance.

Members of the Madison County Drug Task Force, Madison County K-9 officer Justin Weber and Diesel, Madison County patrol units and Bell executed the warrant.
