ANDERSON — Less than a week from trial, a woman accused of dealing cocaine agreed to a plea bargain on Thursday afternoon.
Bonnie R. Ashley, 42, of Anderson pleaded guilty to two charges of dealing cocaine, which stem from a Madison County Drug Task Force investigation in March 2013. As part of the agreement, Ashley's sentence will be capped at 12 years of executed prison time, with more probation time possible.
According to the probable cause affidavit of Ashley's crimes, the drug task force devised two drug buys with Ashley using a confidential informant.
On March 8, 2013, the confidential informant bought $180 worth of cocaine from Ashley. They had a similar transaction for the same amount just four days later.
Recording equipment and identification by the confidential informant helped detectives confirm Ashley made the deals.
She faces sentencing in Judge David Happe's Madison Circuit Court 4 on Aug. 25.
