ANDERSON, Ind. — A woman suffered serious injuries from an accident involving an allegedly intoxicated driver on Saturday morning.
Tracy W. Deloney, 27, of Fort Wayne, faces a charge of OWI and leaving the scene of an accident for his suspected role in the incident.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the accident happened about 3 a.m. in the 2500 block of Columbus Avenue. The pedestrian, 32-year-old Jackie Tomlinson of Anderson, was hit by a black 2010 Ford Mustang and was dragged down the road. About 15 minutes later, officers pulled over Deloney driving a car of similar description on 38th Street near Church Drive.
Deloney reportedly registered a .03 blood-alcohol content and failed three field sobriety tests. He also told officers he had smoked marijuana earlier in the day. His license was also suspended because of a prior OWI conviction.
Tomlinson was transported to St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital to be treated. She suffered several lacerations, abrasions and possibly a broken leg, according to the affidavit.
