---- — ANDERSON — Police on Friday located a woman accused of attempting to abduct a three-week-old baby in Muncie.
Judith A. Walker, 34, was stopped by Anderson police in an orange Pontiac Aztek SUV at about 6:53 p.m. near 10th and Jackson streets, according to Anderson Police Department spokesman Joel Sandefur.
Walker is considered to be the primary suspect in connection with the alleged abduction, which happened shortly before noon at a residence in the 5000 block of West Fernwood Way in Muncie.
Walker, a part-owner of Affordable Pest Control, was apparently conducting a follow-up visit as an exterminator at the home when she allegedly approached the mother of the baby, wrapped a cord around her neck and demanded she hand over the three-month-old girl.
The woman was able to fight off Walker and escape with the baby. Neither were hurt in the incident.
According to Sandefur, police were tipped off that Walker would be meeting up with her ex-husband at Shadyside Park. That man, Brandon Gee, was actually wanted for a separate child molestation charge and was also taken into custody.
Anderson police plan on transporting Walker back to Muncie for questioning.
