CHESTERFIELD, Ind. —
A tow truck driver trying to control a coughing fit rear-ended a car in Chesterfield.
At around 11:45 a.m. Monday, a 1980s model Oldsmobile passenger car stopped at a light in the eastbound lane of State Road 32 near Water Street, said Chesterfield police officer Bill Ingles.
That’s when a tow truck from Baker’s Towing rear-ended the car, he said. The driver of the truck had been ill, and was trying to suppress a coughing fit when he bumped the stopped car.
There was minor damage to the car, Ingles said.
The car’s passengers reported neck and chest pains, but “didn’t seem injured,” he said. Both signed a release and refused treatment.
