ANDERSON — Anderson police have made their first big arrest in connection to the home invasion on Fletcher Street.
Authorities arrested Anthony C. Harris Jr, 22, at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday. APD spokesman Detective Joel Sandefur confirmed it was related to the Fletcher invasion.
Harris was charged with six felonies. Two counts of battery with a deadly weapon, two counts of residential entry and two counts of criminal recklessness. He was held on a $60,000 bond.
The invasion occurred at 10:18 a.m. on Nov. 18 when two men broke into a home in the 1900 block of Fletcher Street. A woman and two men who were in the house were assaulted and the intruders left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The woman was taken to a hospital where she received staples to close a wound in the back of her head. One of the assailants struck her with a gun, according to the police report.
Sandefur said the search is still underway for the second suspect.
A woman with blond hair, whose name has not been released, was seen going up to the house before the invasion took place. Police said she left in a car with the assailants. Sandefur said police have questioned her for information.
He also said more information on the investigation would be released Friday morning.
