Accident with injuries reported between Lapel and Anderson

LAPEL — Authorities closed Indiana 32 between Lapel and Anderson this afternoon while police and rescue crews attended to a serious accident.

About 12:30 p.m. Sunday, police scanner traffic indicated a vehicle was involved in a serious accident in the 7500 block of West Indiana 28. Dispatchers indicated that a female was nine months pregnant.

Multiple teams responded to the accident scene, and a medical helicopter was requested.

Madison County Emergency Management Agency advised motorists to avoid the area during the investigation.
