Man accused of stalking, raping woman

ANDERSON — A man arrested Thursday night is accused of stalking, kidnapping and raping a woman earlier this month.

Gordon L. Wilson Jr., 40, of Anderson, allegedly broke a no-contact order by approaching his victim, whom he followed to a bar at the Ramada Inn on 59th Street in the early morning hours of June 16. Wilson now faces a litany of felony charges, including rape, strangulation, battery, criminal confinement and criminal deviate conduct.

According to jail records, Wilson was still in custody at Madison County Jail on $20,000 bond as of Friday night.

According to a probable cause affidavit of the incident, the victim entered the bar around 1:30 a.m. on June 16, and Wilson unexpectedly walked up and sat down next to her in an attempt to discuss their past. The woman told police she ignored Wilson's advances and moved to another part of the bar.

After she left the bar, the woman got into her vehicle to leave and was quickly grabbed by the throat by someone and choked until her vision got blurry. She was able to fight off the man, whom she identified as Wilson, but he knocked her out with several punches. Wilson then allegedly took the woman by force to his parents' house in the 6500 block of Blue Grass Drive and raped the woman in his car.

According to the report, Wilson then forced the victim into the house and raped her two more times, then allowed her to leave when his parents woke up.

In an interview with detectives, Wilson admitted to violating the no-contact order and to slapping the woman, but denied attacking her in any other way. He also admitted he had sex with the woman but said it was consensual, and the woman wanted to be driven to his parents' home.
