ANDERSON, Ind. —
A bicyclist on a major thoroughfare was hit by a truck and needed to be transported to an Indianapolis hospital by helicopter Saturday afternoon.
About 2 p.m., Timothy Acker, 53, of Anderson, was riding south on Scatterfield Road against traffic when he was hit by a 2002 Ford pickup truck driven by Kenneth Snyder, 56, of Anderson, who was headed east and trying to turn left onto 10th Street, according to witnesses.
An employee at nearby KT Pawn Shop said she watched the collision, and said the biker was non-responsive and not moving after being hit. She said she was very concerned and called the police.
Sgt. Jake Brown of the Anderson Police Department said he had limited information on the cyclist’s condition.
He said Acker was life-flighted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
