MARION — An Elwood man faces felony murder and other charges in connection with the disappearance of his aunt in 2011.
Donald Burns, 49, also faces forgery, theft and receiving stolen property charges related to the death of Dorothy Heard, 74, of Noblesville.
A prosecutor charged Burns last week in Grant Circuit Court in Marion.
Before she vanished on June 13, 2011, Heard left a note saying she and Burns were visiting Wabash, about 20 miles north of Marion. Police said Burns used Heard's credit card the same day in Marion. The woman's remains were found in February 2012 near Marion.
Burns is currently imprisoned on a child molesting conviction. His parole was revoked on a resisting law enforcement charge following his aunt's disappearance.
