ACS announces adult education class offerings

ANDERSON — Anderson Community Schools offer Adult Education preparations classes for the new High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), along with Adult English Language classes, Education Refresher Classes for College and Careers, and Basic Skills classes for the 2013-2014 school year.

Anyone interested in taking an Adult Education or HSED class must attend a one-hour orientation and take a three-hour pre-test to establish learning levels.

Orientation and pre-testing will be held at 1600 Hillcrest Ave., Anderson. The next orientation date is Monday, Feb. 24. Times for the orientation are 9 to 10 a.m. or 6 to 7 p.m. Appointments for the pre-test are scheduled only at the orientation. Pre-testing date is Feb. 25. Times for the pre-testing are 9 a.m. to noon or 5 to 8 p.m.

HSED and Education Refresher classes are offered during the day and in the evening from 4 to 7 p.m. English as a Second Language classes for adults are offered Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Basic Skills classes are offered Monday and Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
