Open Hearts, Open Purses offers $10,000 grant

PENDLETON — The members of the Open Hearts, Open Purses Giving Circle (OHOP) announced the offer of a $10,000 grant again in 2014.

Eligible organizations with a project benefiting the individuals and families of south Madison County townships of Adams, Fall Creek, Green and Stony Creek are invited to contact the South Madison Community Foundation to discuss proposed projects and to request a grant packet.

Open Hearts, Open Purses is comprised of at least 100 members who each contribute $100. These funds are pooled to form the $10,000 grant. OHOP Members will gather on June 12 to hear presentations by three grant finalists and to vote on the $10,000 grant recipient. In its fifth year of existence, OHOP has invested over $50,000 in worthwhile community causes in southern Madison County, including those affecting literacy, public safety, and health and human services.
