Parent trainings set for April 22

The Herald Bulletin

---- — ANDERSON — On April 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Anderson Community School Corp. and IN*SOURCE will offer Part 3 in a series of parent trainings, “Discipline.”

This training is only for parents/guardians with children receiving special education services in Anderson Community Schools. The training will focus on school discipline.

The discipline provisions of Article 7 are complex. When a student with a disability breaks school rules, the student may be disciplined the same as a student without a disability. However, a student with a disability has more protection in certain situations. The discipline provisions of Article 7 provide direction to both parents and schools on how to balance and access educational services while maintaining an orderly and safe learning environment.

Parents and guardians are asked to register online at or by calling Maggie Mattingly, IN*SOURCE regional program specialist, at 374-6777 by Monday, April 21. If fewer than three registrations are received, this workshop may be canceled.

Training will be at the Tanglewood Conference Center, 3522 E. 10th St. IN*SOURCE trainings are provided at no charge.
