Beeler, Richardson honored with Destiny Scholarship Awards

LAPEL — The LHS 64 Foundation awarded two Destiny Scholarship Awards to two seniors at Lapel High School. The recipients were Lauren Beeler and Mitchell Richardson.

Beeler will attend Anderson University and major in elementary education, and Richardson will attend Northern Kentucky University and major in biology and then apply to dental school. Both graduates excelled in the criteria required by the LHS 64 Foundation that include citizenship, community service, grade point average, extracurricular activities and goals in life.

The Lapel High School Class of 1964 formed the LHS 64 Foundation in 1992 and presented the first Destiny Scholarship Award in 1994. Since then the class has awarded over $30,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors at Lapel High School.

The Class of 1964 was acknowledged and thanked for its scholarship program at this year's graduation ceremony.
