ANDERSON, Ind. — One Maple Ridge Elementary student was taken to the hospital and 59 others were examined when a hydraulic hose on a school bus leaked and sprayed the interior of the bus Friday morning.

At about 8 a.m., students alerted the driver when they started seeing liquid from a back heater. Students also reported seeing it flow into the floor and also smelled it, according to Principal John Lord.

The bus was about one-eighth of a mile from the school.
