Daleville students honored with academic awards

DALEVILLE, Ind. — The annual academic honor banquet was held April 19 at Daleville Jr./Sr. High School.

Rae Floyd, principal, and Pat Keogh, presented awards to students who had a 3.5 grade point average.

Academic fleece jackets were presented to students who had achieved a 3.7 GPA after three semesters of work.  Daleville Elementary Parent Teacher Organization president Jenny Hamilton helped present the jackets.

Students who received fleece jackets were seniors Cody Duke, James Tungate, and Betsy Weston;  junior, Donovan Archer;  and sophomores Erin Allen, Christian Combs, Ericka Cook, Robert Cronk, Lauren Irelan, Danielle Johnson, Rowan Landes, Hannah McKinney, Kristen Mummert, Brock Savage, Zach Sizelove, and Autumn Stevens.

The following were recognized for achieving at least a 3.5 GPA.

Freshmen: Austin Craig, Adrianna Foutch, Hanna Hochstetler, Alicia Jackson, Elliot Jackson. Ashley Kincaid, Haylie Lance, Dorothy Leap, Kiana Rector, Kayla Skinner, Haley Sutton, Alyssa Taylor, Brandon Vermillion, Ally Wallace, Wesli Welch and Abbey Wright.

Sophomores: Erin Allen, Christian Combs, Erika Cook, Robert Cronk, Tyler Elliot, Melina Herzberg, Hannah Huff, Lauren Irelan, Danielle Johnson, Rowan Landes, Hannah McKinney, Kristen Mummert, Hannah Nunley, Brock Savage, Zachary Sizelove, Cameron Smith, Bryce Stephens and Autumn Stevens.

Juniors: Donovan Archer, Rhianna Ballinger, Courtney Broshar, Garrett Craig, Allison Harris, Mackensie Heath, Joshua Irelan, Caleb Maddox, Sam Miller, Shraya Patel, Kylie Powell, RuthAnne Shellabarger, Joshua Watters and Sarah Yoder.

  • FEA - HB0728 - Fresh Orientation - SH Elwood freshmen learn the ways of high school through mentoring program About half the 112 incoming freshmen at Elwood Jr./Sr. High School got a jump on their friends recently by attending a freshman orientation session. Joan Mercer, an English teacher who helped organize the the orientation, said the mentor program, which has been in place for several years, has been effective in new students make the high school transition.
