Lapel electricity expected to be restored

LAPEL, Ind. — Power is expected to be restored about 12:30 p.m. today in the Lapel area, where about 580 homes and two schools lost electricity.

A tree fell on a line and disrupted power, Duke Energy officla said.

Lapel Elementary and Middle School are without power, however no students are being sent home. School officials were making the decision whether to send the students home.

The schools are located in the 2800 block of S. State Road 13.

Earlier Wednesday, Southview Preschool Center, 4500 Main St. in Anderson, was temporarily without power, officials said.

Various, but limited, power outages were reported Wednesday in the Anderson area following the drop in temperatures. However, the number of homes affected were about 100.
