Erskine evacuated after bomb threat

ANDERSON β€” A bomb threat, which proved to be unfounded, forced the evacuation Monday morning of students at Erskine Elementary School.

The report came in about 10:15 a.m., said Joseph Cronk, chief operations officer for Anderson Community Schools. An anonymous caller reportedly stated a time for the bomb to be detonated.

Students were evacuated from the school, 811 W. 60th St., and the building was searched. Nothing was found, Cronk said, and students were back in classrooms about 10:50 a.m.

Parents were to be notified of the incident through school-issued letters and automated messages Monday night.
