FAIRMOUNT, Ind. —
One of three contested school board races in Madison County, the Madison-Grant United School Corp. race was the only one to see the incumbent uprooted.
Challenger Rodney Tobias beat incumbent Tamara Cornelious by 92 votes in Madison and Grant counties for 54 percent of the vote. A final tally had not been decided by late Tuesday as the Grant County clerk’s office was still counting absentee ballots. However, Tobias had 55 percent of the votes in Madison County and had a lead in Grant County.
Madison-Grant United School Corp. serves children in both counties.
