Your Weekend: Feb. 22-23


Chilly weather is expected again this weekend. Why not check out these indoor activities?

u Support the “A Day in Their Paws” fundraiser today from noon to 5 p.m. at the Madison County Humane Society, 2219 Crystal St.

u Enjoy the music of the Page Pipe Organ concert featuring George Smith today at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre. The concert is a fundraiser for repairs to the theater’s gift shop.

u Experience the culture of the opera “The Magic Flute” at 7:30 p.m. today at Anderson University’s Byrum Hall. Or check out Sunday’s 2:30 p.m. performance.

u Tip back a glass at the Winter Wine Fest, hosted by Tri Kappa of Anderson, from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Toscana Event Centre, 1314 Broadway.

u Take in one of two art shows: In-Focus, running through April 16, at The Anderson Center for the Arts. Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 2 to 5 p.m.; and the Juror’s Exhibition: The Little World of Red Nose Studio, running through March 21, at the Wilson West Gallery at Anderson University.

Also check out the Annual Juried Student Exhibition (above) in the Wilson Gallery East. A reception will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.


Saturday games, subject to change due to weather:

u Two girls basketball teams in action in the state tournament today. Anderson faces Lawrence North in the Decatur Central Regional, while Shenandoah takes on Tipton in the Lapel Regional. Both games start at 10 a.m.

u In boys basketball action, Liberty Christian plays at Daleville at 7:30.
