Teen Read 'n' Feed Festival on April 12

ANDERSON — The 2014 Anderson Public Library Teen Read ‘n’ Feed Festival will include a writing contest for teens in grades six through 12 residing in Madison County. Entrants may write a letter to their favorite author (1,000 words or fewer), or a poem (800 words or fewer), essay (500-5,000 words), short story (500-5,000 words), or memoir (500-5,000 words) exploring at least one of the themes of courage, betrayal, adversity, or friendship.

Winners from each category will be invited to read their entries aloud at the festival on Saturday, April 12; enjoy lunch with visiting authors Barry Lyga, Saundra Mitchell, Kristin Levine and Brenda Maxfield; and win a $25 gift certificate. All entries must include an entry form, available at the Information Services desk, and must be submitted by 8 p.m. Monday, March 31, in order to be considered.
