Graham takes part in holiday concert

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Sara Graham of Anderson and student at the University of Evansville was selected to perform at the Department of Music’s 34th annual Holiday Pops concert. Graham is majoring in music therapy.

In the Evansville Tri-State area, Holiday Pops will be televised on WNIN, Channel 9 at noon today (Evansville is in the Central Time Zone.) Those outside the local viewing area may watch the concert on UE’s YouTube page.

Holiday Pops took place at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10, in downtown Evansville’s Victory Theatre. The concert brought together UE ensembles and soloists, including the University’s choirs, orchestra, and wind, brass, and jazz ensembles.

This year’s Holiday Pops concert featured students and faculty members performing sacred and secular musical selections, ranging from “Greensleeves” to “Sleigh Ride” to music from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker ballet.

“Every year, it’s a joy to see talented students such as Sara Graham share their love of music with the community by performing in the Holiday Pops concert,” said Thomas Josenhans, chair of the Department of Music. “The collaborative efforts of UE students and faculty make this performance a local favorite every holiday season. Thanks to our partnership with WNIN, we’re thrilled that audiences around the region can enjoy this year’s Holiday Pops concert.”

The University of Evansville is a private, liberal arts-based university in Evansville, with a full-time undergraduate enrollment of approximately 2,300.
