14th annual dog walkathon at Shadyside Park

ANDERSON — The Madison County Humane Society will host its 14th annual dog walkathon on Saturday, May 3. The walk will be at Shadyside Park between 8 a.m. and noon (rain or shine).

Walkers can help raise money for the Humane Society by getting people to sponsor them with donations. All proceeds will help the organization care for homeless animals.

All participating dogs will receive a treat bag and bottled water will be provided. For $5, people can have a sign posted along the trails in honor of their pet (adoption notice, memorial, etc.). Anyone interested in a sign should call Amy at 610-7706 by April 26.

All walkers will receive a T-shirt. To assure correct size, preregister by April 5. A Vera Bradley duffle bag filled with dog supplies will be auctioned off. T-shirts and other items will be available for purchase.

Volunteer walkers are needed to make this event a success, organizers said. Walkers will turn in their money, sponsor sheet and signed waiver the day of the walk.

More information is available by calling Amy at 610-7706, Jayna at 639-3545 or http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/IN35.html.
