Fall Funfest set for Mounds State Park

ANDERSON — Join Mounds State Park for a weekend of not-so-scary, family-friendly fun, Oct. 18-20.

Fall Funfest activities include:

Friday, Oct. 18:

— 7 to 9 p.m.: Friends of Mounds State Park cocoa and cookies sale outside the visitors center.

— 7, 7:30, 8 and 8:30 p.m.: Not-So-Scary Night Hikes with the naturalist through the woods on an illuminated trail. Meet at the visitors center.

Saturday, Oct. 19:

— 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Spooky nature crafts and critters on the visitors center lawn.

— 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Caramel apples, cookies and cider sale on the visitors center lawn.

— 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Decorate a treat bag “nature style” at the program area near the camp store.

— 3 to 5 p.m.: Trick-or-treating at the campground; parking available by the camp store.

— 5 to 6 p.m.: Learn how box turtles are celebrating Halloween as the naturalist roves the campground.

— 7 to 8 p.m.: Campsite decorating contest.

Sunday, Oct. 20:

— 11 a.m. to noon: Join the naturalist on a hike in search of fall colors. Meet at the visitors center.

— 1 to 2 p.m.: Pumpkin carving contest at the program area near the camp store. Bring your own pumpkin or use a donated one (supplies are limited).

— 3 to 3:30 p.m.: Pumpkin carving judging.

Mounds State Park is located at 4306 Mounds Road.
