Hoosier Park to host 'Fire It Up on the Fourth'

ANDERSON — Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson will host the “Fire It Up on the Fourth” celebration beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 4.

The event is free to the public and will include a series of family-friendly activities, dining specials and live entertainers.

The fireworks presentations, where more than 12,000 shells will explode in coordination with a 30-minute soundtrack, will start at about 10 p.m.

Guests can take part in free face painting, bungee trampoline rides and bounce houses, roaming magicians, and commemorative T-shirt giveaways. Dining options will line the outdoor space just outside the grandstand. Here is the rest of the schedule for the evening:

u Live racing beginning at 5:30 p.m.

u Live entertainment provided by Trop-Rock Junkies beginning at 8 p.m.

Chairs and picnic tables will be available throughout casino and racing venues for convenience. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets for additional comfort; however, outside food and drinks are prohibited. In the event of rain, a rain date will be announced.
